Capecoin
ケープコイン
Japan crowned the capybara its Animal of the Decade. So we minted it a coin.

Overheard at every onsen in Japan
The verdict is in.
"This decade belonged to one animal, and it was sitting in a hot tub."
"I came for the hot spring. I stayed for the rodent."
"Ten years. Zero stress. Unbeatable record."

Why Japan chose the capybara
It invented the onsen glow-up.
Every winter, Japanese zoos fill a steaming bath with yuzu and let the capybaras in. The capybaras close their eyes. The whole country watches. Nobody has ever looked more relaxed on purpose.
It conquered the plushie aisle.
Gachapon machines, keychains, pillows the size of a sofa. Walk through any Tokyo arcade and count the capybaras before you reach the exit. You will lose count.
It stayed calm while everything else didn't.
Ten years of trains, deadlines and doomscrolling. Through all of it, one animal sat in warm water with a fruit on its head. Japan took notes.
Everyone likes it. Literally everyone.
Birds sit on it. Monkeys nap on it. Ducks follow it around. The capybara is the friendliest animal on Earth, and Japan made it official.

Cape Q&A
Is the capybara really Japan's Animal of the Decade?+
Ask any onsen. Ask any plushie aisle. Ask the capybara. It won't answer. It's relaxing.
Why the yuzu?+
In Japan, a winter yuzu bath means good luck and good health. The capybara wears it like a crown.
Is Capecoin a good investment?+
It's a capybara on a coin. It has never once been in a hurry. Neither should you.
When moon?+
After the bath. The bath takes as long as it takes.
Who runs Capecoin?+
A capybara, mostly. Occasionally a duck sits on its head and takes meetings.
